Replace regular butter with burnt butter in your basic cookie dough and voila you have your “burnt butter cookie dough”

Roll into balls, place on the tray and gently press the middle using your thumb. This is called the thumbprint method.

Ready to bake 😀

#2 Maple cookies

Whip in two tablespoon of maple syrup in your cookie dough. These cookies tend to spread more than usual!

Drop cookie dough on the baking tray (1 inch apart) and sprinkle with chocolate chips. I use a tablespoon as a measure for one cookie.

Why CaramelBricks?

Food is something I have always been fussy about. As a child my mother described me as A pain in the ass when it came to feeding me. Little did they know I just had very high standards and secretly I loved food.

Being foodie wasn’t any overnight event or a process even I was pretty much born like that. Soon the fussiness was over when I learned to cook for my self, and that was a life changer. Cooking is an art, being foodie required me to be but cooking required me to practice.

What didn’t require practice was sketching. I aced all my art classes since Kindergarten as long as I remember.

“Years of my life when I didn’t touch the stove I held the brush.”

As school ended, started the big dilemma. Architecture or Food industry?
I settled with architecture weighing my options but deep down I knew I would not be satisfied giving up either one.
Trying to bridge the gap between food and architecture ever since.

CaramelBricks is that attempt. Caramel being one of  my favourites and bricks largely representing architecture.
I intend this blog to be a place where I can express my love for food and architecture, and possibly share it. One informal platform where I can document all my artistic ventures.
